Writing Dynasty was one of the great experiences of my life. Over two years I traveled 27,000 miles interviewing ninety ex- players, former executives to garner the material to be able to tell this story. I interviewed Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, Whitey Ford, Yogi Berra, Elston Howard, Allie Reynolds, Joe Pepitone, Bobby Richardson, Tony Kubek and dozens more in an attempt to separate the baseball card fantasy from the reality, trying to couch those personal frailties which I encountered with compassion, not rationalization.
